About Karibu
Karibu — the Swahili word of welcome — is an independent visitor & culture guide to Kenya: its wildlife and safaris, its landscapes, its cultures and food, and its seven regions. It is written for the curious, not the checklist, and everything here is free to read.
How the guide works
The country is read by its regions — seven of them, drawn on a real-geometry map and threaded through every essay. Five sections hold the shelves: Wildlife & Safari, Landscapes & Nature, Culture & Heritage, Food & Farming and Regions & Travel.
Our photography policy
No identifiable human faces appear in our photography, and never minors. Culture is shown through craft, textile, instrument, market, architecture and landscape — the things communities make and keep — described accurately and warmly, never as caricature.
How Karibu is supported
By readers, and by a small guest book of travelling companions — one considerate sponsor per page, never booking links, never commissions on advice. Nothing here is paid placement.
Something inaccurate, or described without the warmth it deserves? Tell the editors — corrections are a service, not a complaint.
