A Range Scientist with a BSc in range management (University of Nairobi) with interest range pastures improvement. Has nine (9) years research experience in KARI. Currently involved in Range Research activities at KARI Kiboko Research Centre and pursuing an MSc degree at the University of Nairobi, Faculty of Agriculture, Dept. of Land Resource Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT). The MSc thesis research topic is “Evaluating viability and competitive interactions of range grasses under different micro-catchments and economic returns from reseeding in Southern Kenya”. WORKING EXPERIENCE
- Currently – working with Kenya Agricultural Institute (KARI) at Kiboko as an assistant research officer involved in natural pasture improvement at on-farm level with communities in the southern rangelands of Kenya.
- September 2001 to August 2002 – Vocational employment at KARI-Kiboko for 12 months – involved in on-farm Bush Management Trials in Makueni, Kajiado and Taita-Taveta Districts.
- March 2001 – Attached to the Epidemiology and Socio-Economics Division (ESD), at KARI – Muguga North, for 4 weeks – involved in Data Entry, Cleaning and Management.
- 1998 – Ranch Practice Attachment for 8 weeks at the Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC) Mutara Ranch, in Laikipia – involved in range management routine practices in the ranch.
- 1995 – Worked for Dr. Njunguna (KARI Muguga South) during his PhD research thesis for 6 weeks – involved in planting and weeding of the maize crop used in the research work.

- 29th to 31st October 2007 – Biometrics training Workshop held at KARI Kiboko organized by KARI Biometrics and sponsored by Kenya Arid and Semi-Arid Lands Project (KASAL) funded by the European Union (EU).
- 16th – 18th October 2007 – Centre Research Advisory Committee (CRAC) Meeting held at KARI-Marsabit Research Centre Marsabit, Kenya.
- August 13th – 17th 2007: Civil Service Week was held in Makindu, the District Headquarters of Kibwezi District to commemorate the international recognition given to Kenya for having the best civil service in the world. The theme of the celebrations was “bringing service closer to the people”. Services offered by various government departments were on display outside the DO’s Officer. I manned the KARI-Kiboko stand.

- February 2nd 2007: Farm field day at the KARI-Katumani field station in Kiboko. The chief guest was Hon. Kipruto arap Kirwa the then Minister for Agriculture. I presented a poster jointly with colleagues on posters on pasture improvement in semi arid lands of southern Kenya.
