KARI Kitale Laboratory Services

KARI– Kitale centre has fairly good laboratory facilities that have provided services to researchers, other research centres, NGO’s and farmers.  Others include high school students and college’s students who get attached for laboratory practical skills.

Nutrition Lab (Pasture Laboratory)
The most common analysis done in this section is the steam distillation for crude protein and the nutrient digestibility using the Tilley and Terry methods.

Proximate analysis is done in this lab which include sample digestion for crude protein determination, cross energy, major and some micro elements.
