KARI Molo Mandate
Kari Molo has a national mandate on pyrethrum in all growing areas which cover all provinces except Nairobi and North Eastern. The main thrust of the centre research activities addresses the following areas:
1. Carry out Strategic Research and Development on all aspects of pyrethrum crop including
•Plant breeding, Agronomy , Plant protection
•Social economics, gender issues
•Biotechnology
•Maintain pyrethrum germplasm
2. Carry out adaptive research on pyrethrum crop in collaboration with other KARI centres and stakeholders
3. Propagate temperate fruits (Apples, Plums, Pears and Peaches)
4. Carry out Research and Development on Botanical and Aromatic plants
