Kabete: Patrick T. Gicheru
Patrick T. Gicheru is a Senior Principal Research Scientist and holds a PhD in land and water management. He is the Director of The National Agricultural Research Laboratories of Kenya Agricultural Research Institute. He has extensive experience in natural resource management with a bias in sustainable land management and environmental impacts on agricultural land use spanning over 25 years. His current research focuses on land and water management linking it with natural resource management and land use planning. Also of late, he has been involved with issues related to Green Water credits and payment of environmental services, land degradation, climatic change and how they impact on carbon stocks nationally and internationally. Currently, he is the Chair (2011-2014) of the Sub-Committee on Land Degradation in the International Union of Soil Science.
