Kabete: Daniel W Kilambya
Daniel W. Kilambya is a Principal Research Officer specialised in agricultural economics. He holds an MSc in agricultural economics and is the Head of Socioeconomics and Applied Statistics programme and as well as the Deputy Centre Director. In addition, he is the Centre Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and the National Coordinator for Priority Setting in KARI. He serves as the National Focal Person of KARI in the Association for Strengthening Agricultural Research in Eastern and Central Africa (ASARECA) in agricultural priority setting. Since his employment in 1981, he has gained great experience in conducting socioeconomic studies in various thematic areas viz. agricultural priority setting, impact asessment (ex-ante and ex-post), monitoring and evaluation, and marketing. He has over the years technically facilitated the setting of priorities in agricultural research for development (AR4D) within KARI (programmes and centres) and also for several ASARECA’s networks (former) and now programmes that cover 10 East and Central African countries. He has published papers in refereed journals, workshops and conferences and has numerous technical reports, participated in task forces, reviewed technical papers for conferences and has undertaken consultancies. His current research interests are in the development and transformation of institutions, priority setting and impact assessment.
