John Mwaniki Ndungu
Mr. John M. Ndungu is a sociologist currently employed by KARI at Mtwapa as a Research Officer. His research focus is mainly in the areas of community development in the rural and preurban areas on social and economic issues in the day to day activities of the farmers. He is the head of socio-economic research programme at KARI –Mtwapa and also the information technology specialist at the centre. John graduated in Bachelors of Art (General) from the University of Nairobi Kenya in 1998, obtained a Masters of Art degree Rural Sociology and Community Development from the University of Nairobi Kenya in 2004 He has particular interests in adoption and impact assessment (ex-post) of technologies; Priority setting (ex-ante impact assessment) for the research programmes; Monitoring and evaluation of technologies for economic viability and social acceptability; Policy analysis and marketing studies, including analysis of credit provision, input supply and costs, processing, farm-gate price of agricultural products input-out-put markets and institutional set-ups; and Characterization and diagnosis of constraints/opportunities of various farming systems.
